Talk about going in at the deep end that about sums up the Malahleni Fungal Preventative Curative Centre President’s editorial of their June in-house monthly journal.

He reiterated that, it is not a story of which fungicide is stronger than the other, there are “Preventative fungicides and Curative fungicides”.

“Curative fungicides are the ones which cures if the plant is attacked. Preventative fungicides are the ones which prevents the fungal attacks!” He said.

He alluded to the fact that the curative fungicide works wonders in protecting your plants from fungal ambush. This is due to the fact that it protects and cures, all in one. There are about two preventative fungicides that are also effective enough, these are bravo fungicide, chlorothalonil,, then one curative which is tubeconazole.”So, as a farmer!, the choice is yours, but normally as a farmer, dealing with the crops which can be affected by a myriad of diseases, it is recommended to use two types of fungicides! “Preventative fungicides are perfect, by applying it you would have exchanged the spraying terrain pattern because if you continuously use one fungicide these diseases may develop resistance, explained the FPCC President.
